After war many of our soldiers are left with mental and physical disabilities. Many suffer from PTSD, which is a mental heath disability that is triggered by a terrifying scene or event in your life, some can be faced with the lost of limbs, or other diagnoses just from war. One line in a poem states that "I saw him drowning. In all my dreams before my helpless sight, He plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning." This explains that some soldiers are not able to determine what is reality and what isn't after war. This relates to our reading by explaining that war not only effects the family it also effects the individual. Fighting in the war is a very courageous thing to do but the long term effects of war may not be worth the fighting.
